Last updated July 10, 2026. How we handle information when you request service or apply as a contractor.
Handoff Services LLC ("we", "HANDOFF") explains here how we handle personal information when you request service or apply as a contractor.
1. Information we collect
- Homeowners: name, email, phone, address/ZIP, service description, and consent records.
- Contractors: business details, license and insurance information, service areas, payment method tokens (via Stripe), and uploaded credential documents.
- Automatically: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and operations.
2. How we use information
We use your information to route service requests, verify contractors, process payments, send transactional communications, prevent fraud, and improve our services.
3. Sharing
We share homeowner contact and job details with matched contractors so they can respond to your request. We use payment processors (Stripe) and communication providers to operate the platform. We do not sell personal information.
4. Communications & TCPA
By submitting a service request you consent to calls, texts, and emails about that request, including via automated systems where permitted by law. You may opt out of marketing messages; transactional messages about an active request may still be sent.
5. Retention & security
We retain information as needed to operate the platform, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Sensitive lead fields are encrypted at rest. Access to contractor credential documents is limited to authorized staff.
6. Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your information by contacting us. Contractor applicants may withdraw an application before approval by emailing support.
7. Home identity and service history
When you submit a service request with a street address, ZIP code, and phone number, we may derive a private home identity (home_id) from those fields. That identifier links service requests for the same home so dispatch and matched contractors have context. It is not a public property listing.
Service history for a home may exist on our systems even if you never create an account. Tracking a single request still works with your tracking code and email. Creating an optional homeowner account can link that history to you via user_home_links so you can view past and future requests for linked homes in one place.
Matched contractors see job details for the requests they are assigned, not a full cross-home dossier sold publicly. For a plain-language product explanation, see Your home's record.
